Tony Alamo arrested yet again

FBI agents have arrested "fugitive" Tony Alamo at an Arizona motel, accusing him of transporting minors across state lines for sex.

FBI spokesman Steve Frazier in Little Rock said Alamo was staying in Flagstaff, Ariz., when arrested. The evangelist — who began his career as a California street preacher in 1966 — was scheduled for a federal court appearance tomorrow in Flagstaff.

"He has to have an initial apperance before I can say a whole lot," Frazier said. He said he did not believe children were with Alamo at the time of the arrest.

Agents arrested Alamo — whose real name is Bernie LaZar Hoffman — on charges that he violated the Mann Act, which prohibits transporting children across state lines for illegal purposes. Frazier described the illegal purposes as "sexual activity."

"I'm not on the run," Alamo said on the phone Thursday from a desert location he would not specify. "I was on my way to Santa Clarita but I got stranded here." His comments came during "a long, light-hearted casual interview."

Federal agents and state police had raided Alamo's Arkansas compound on Saturday and removed six girls from the home. His Santa Clarita compound was raided Sunday. Prosecutors issued an arrest warrant today.

Tomorrow in Little Rock, Ark., two of six girls are expected to testify behind closed doors about allegations of sexual abuse.

It is strange that this little known evangelist (and someone who has met Jack Chick) has been the target of such huge media attention. The Southern Poverty Law Center, a notorious liberal organization, has harassed Alamo for being "anti-Catholic" and "anti-homosexual." That being the case, every Independent Baptist pastor should be arrested and their churches shut down also.

Tony Alamo Ministries raided yet again.

The raid on Tony Alamo's compound at Fouke on Saturday, Sept 20, 2008 marked the third time police officers have raided his property.
In 1991, Alamo and his followers disappeared when U.S. marshals stormed his complex near Alma in western Arkansas—taking with them the remains of Alamo's late wife Susan, who had died in 1982 and from whom Alamo anticipated a resurrection.

The marshals moved in after a judge awarded $1.8 million judge to six of his former followers. The judge found that Alamo owed them money for a number of violations, including alienating the affections of two men's wives.

In the raid, marshals took 1,500 to 2,000 elaborate denim jackets to be sold off to pay $1.8 million to former Alamo church followers who had claimed violations under federal labor laws.

Alamo followers made and sold the jackets to finance the ministry. A 1981 federal court ruling had said Alamo's followers were employees under the law and that they should be paid at least the minimum wage, plus overtime as appropriate.

The Internal Revenue Service also said at the time that Alamo owed $7.9 million in taxes. He was ultimately arrested on tax-related charges and convicted in 1994.

As a condition of his release from prison four years later, a court ordered Alamo to return his late wife's body to her family. A chancery court judge stipulated that if Alamo did not produce the body, he would be sent to the local jail upon his release from federal custody.

Susan Alamo's body was eventually put in a crypt at Tulsa, Okla.

In 1988, California state officials raided Alamo's complex in Santa Ana to seize three boys and return them to their fathers' custody. Justin Miller, then 11, told police that Alamo directed four men to strike him 140 times with a wooden paddle as punishment for minor offenses.

Alamo briefly faced a child-abuse charge but a prosecutor directed that the count be dropped, citing a lack of evidence.

In 1991, Alamo was acquitted on a charge that he threatened to kidnap a federal judge.

Jack Chick featured Alamo in Battle Cry, and is a former acquaintance. Alamo interviewed Alberto Rivera for Alamo's controversial tract "The Pope's Secrets." See Chick's "Kiss the Protestants Goodbye"

Palin's Church Comments Attacked

Critics of Gov. Sarah Palin are attacking her comments to her fellow Assembly of God church members. At one point, she says: "Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan." Critics are saying she's claiming God wants war, but she is actually asking members to pray that our leaders are following God's will, in other words, "let's pray that our leaders are doing what God want us to do". This is in stark contrast to what Obama's preacher (and mentor) said when the told his church that 9/11 was payback for American racism. See Chick's WHO IS ALLAH?

Polls Reverse in Presidential Race

For the first time in this Presidential campaign, the polls have reversed and GOP senator John McCain leads beyond the margin of error (46 to 50% or registered voters). The change is attributed to McCains surpise pick of Gov. Palin as his running mate. However, another cause could be the recent discloser that Barack Obama has been closely associated as early as age 25 to Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, a key adviser to a Saudi billionaire who had mentored the founding members of the Black Panthers. Although many Americans have never heard of al-Mansour, he is well known within the black community as a lawyer, an orthodox Muslim, a black nationalist, a inflamatory author, and an outspoken enemy of Israel. Dr. al-Mansour refuses comment, saying “I was determined I was never going to be in (this) situation,” he said. “Bloggers are saying (I'm) the new Rev. Wright — in drag! — and (I'm) a nationalist, racist, and worse than Rev. Wright. So any statement that I make would only further this activity which is not in the interest of Barack.” See Chick's WHO IS ALLAH? Attack On VP's Daughter Widens

After naming Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as the GOP Vice Presidential Candidate, opponents have attacked the fact that her 17-year-old daughter is five months pregnant and hasn't yet married the father (but intends to do so). Obama, however, said he would not endorse the attacks on the teen. (Obama himself was conceived to an 18-year-old unmarried mother.) Although his official campaign does not continue the attacks, Obama supporters in the media and blogsphere do. They say the incident also proves that Palin's position on sex education and abstinence doesn't work. However, it is very possible the daughter DID use birth control and that it failed, and that abstinence is the only policy that actually does work-- No one really knows, so the argument has no merit at this point. The controversy shows how the abortion debate still dominates this election, since the inference is that the daughter should have terminated the baby, just as pro-abortion activists feel Gov. Palin should have aborted her latest child once Downs Syndrome was detected in it. See Chick's WHO KILLED CLARICE?

Islamic Ramadan Begins

Muslims begin their month long holy observance of Ramadan. It takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, believed to be the month in which the Qur'an was revealed to Angel Gabriel which later was revealed to Prophet Muhammad. It is the Islamic month of fasting (sawm), in which participating Muslims do not eat or drink anything from dawn until sunset. Fasting is meant to teach the person patience and humility. Chick's belief if that Islam is a bastardization of the real word of God, and that it was created by the Vatican (which was another bastardization of God's word, according to Chick & Alberto) in order to prevent followers from being saved and gaining entrance into heaven. See Chick's THE TRAITOR.

McCain Announces Female V.P.

G.O.P. Presidential candadate John McCain picked Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has his Vice Presidential choice. She already has energized conservative religious leaders who had fretted that John McCain would pick an abortion rights supporter as his running mate. The Alaska governor was raised in a Pentecostal church and has called herself "as pro-life as any candidate can be."

Gary Bauer, one of McCain's most enthusiastic evangelical supporters, said the Arizona senator had hit a "grand slam home run" and that adding Palin to the GOP ticket is "guaranteed to energize values voters."

The 44-year-old mother of five, who led her high school chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, was baptized as a teenager at the Wasilla Assembly of God Church, where she and her family were very active, according to her then-pastor, Paul Riley.

As a politician, Palin has sided with the majority evangelical view in opposing gay marriage and expressing a desire to see creationism discussed alongside evolution in schools. She supports equal protection of gays and is a well known reformer.

During a 2006 debate, she said she was a proponent of teaching both evolution and creationism in schools. She later clarified her stance in an interview with the Anchorage Daily News, saying that she doesn't think creationism needed to be part of the curriculum and that she would not push the state Board of Education to add such alternatives to the state's required curriculum.

Not only does Palin oppose abortion as a matter of policy, but she chose to give birth to her youngest child, a son, after a prenatal exam indicated Down syndrome. Studies show that about nine in 10 pregnant women who are given a Down syndrome diagnosis have chosen to have an abortion. When she found out her 17-year-old daughter was pregnant, she also supported having the baby (though political opponents have tried to use that against her).

Staver called Palin a "a woman of faith who has a strong position on life, a consistent opinion on judges. ... She's the complete package."

Former KKK grand wizard convert to Christianity and now a civil rights preacher, Johnny Lee Clary, has said, "That Mac Daddy (Obama) and Plagiarizer (Biden) are going to be beaten to a pulp come November! Jesus has picked McCain and Palin and we need to honor that. I want you to let everyone know that McCain/Palin is God’s ticket and Obama/Biden is Satan’s ticket!"

Chick fan club president Richard Lee used to attend Palmer Assembly of God near Wasilla in Alaska. He never became a politician as Gov. Palin did, but a lawyer and preacher instead. How life takes us in different directions! See Chick's "BABY TALK"
