Jewish American Confesses to Spying to Israel

A Jewish American contractor, Ben-ami Kadish, was charged in U.S. District Court in Manhattan with four counts of conspiracy, including allegations that he disclosed U.S. national defense documents to Israel and acted as an agent of the Israeli government.

Prosecutors say Kadish, a U.S. citizen who worked at an Army base in New Jersey, took home classified documents for six years and let the Israeli photograph them in his basement. Those documents included information about nuclear weapons, a modified version of an F-15 fighter jet, and the U.S. Patriot missile air defense system. Kadish's apparent motivation was to help Israel, prosecutors said.

Israel grants American Jews automatic citizenship in their country. Some say this is done to split their loyalty and get them to pressure American politicians for billions in Israeli aid, defend Israel publically against claims of human rights violations, and, in extreme cases like these, spy for what they consider their ethnic and religious homeland. Kadish claims he didn't accept money for becoming a traitor, but only gifts and free meals. Israel won't acknowledge they spy on the US, their closest alley, but many of the secrets that are stolen from the US wind up being resold by Israel to future adversaries like China.
