Iran Sticks with Anti-US Islamic Leadership
Opponents of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad clashed with police in the heart of Iran's capital Saturday, pelting them with rocks and setting fires in the worst unrest in Tehran in a decade. They accused the Nationalist president of using fraud to steal the election victory from his reformist rival who modeled his campaign after Obama's. The mainstream media-- and Obama himself-- suggested earlier in the week that the reformer could win, because of Obama's speech in Egypt. However, that seems to have been wishful thinking. Ahmadinejad won by a 2 to 1 margin. Now Iran seems determined to pursue nuclear weapons in full defiance of the White House and other Western governments (especially Israel).
