Atheists Urge Obama to Snub Boy Scouts

The Center for Inquiry and the Council for Secular Humanism, in collaboration with the American Humanist Association and seventeen other nontheistic organizations, have banded together to call for President-elect Barack Obama to decline an invitation by the Boy Scouts of America to receive the honorary presidency of the group. The Boy Scouts expects members to believe in God, and the atheists think that discriminates. Obama professes to be Christian (although he was a member of what many considered a racist church for 20 years). He has not indicated if he will accept or reject the Boy Scouts offer.
