Group Asks Pope for Condoms

Activists groups published an open letter in an Italy Newspaper to the Pope asking him to reconsider the Catholic taboo against condoms. They've always been turned down before, but this time they have a new twist: They say they urge condom use not to prevent life (fertilization), but to protect people against HIV infection.
