Tony Blair Converts to Catholicism

Former UK Prime Minster Tony Blair converted to Catholicism this week. He was a former member of the Church of England (the official religion of the royals and the most commonly practiced religion in England). As Prime Minister, Blair led the fight to legalize homosexual relationships with boys 16 years and up, but now he's joining a church that officially frowns on such legislation (although cynics would point out many Catholic priests have been involved is such relationships, as recent scandals have revealed). Blair's wife is a Roman Catholic, and his family usually attended Mass with her. Less than 10% of England's liberal Church of England members regularly attend church. Blair said he resisted talking about his religious views in office out of fear of being seen as a nut. He recently met with Pope in person. It's unknown if they discussed his views then or his upcoming conversion. See Chick's THE BEAST.
