Are you sure this is drawn by Chick? It seems very polished to me. Doesn't Carter sometimes work in a Chick-ish style? Is it possible we're looking at Chick pencil drawings, inked by Carter?
Yes, this tract is Chick's style and not a Carter imitation. Even at age 83, Chick continues to improve! (Check out his latest beautiful book illustrations in BABYLON RELIGION.) I will try to confirm for certain that Carter did not ink any of these as well, but I have never heard of Carter doing that and Chick hasn't be slowing down lately.
Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen Babylon Religion, but if Heart Trouble is all Chick, you are certainly correct in saying that his style continues to become more sophisticated. That wicked heart, for example, seems more completely rendered than I expect from Chick. If you are able to inquire and confirm that it's all Chick, I'd be very interested to hear. Thanks again.
