Televangelist Paula White divorces

Randy and Paula White, the founders and co-pastors of what has been one of the nation's biggest and fastest-growing churches, plan to divorce.

Members of Without Walls International Church reacted with tears and a chorus of "Oh, no's" after the Whites' announcement at Thursday night's service.

Most said the news came as a shock, but it didn't shake their faith in the ministry.

The Whites have declined to say what the church pays them.

Michael Chitwood, whose financial services company devised their compensation package, said he recalled they have taken an annual salary as high as $1.5 million collectively, though most years it's closer to $600,000.

They were approved to take up to $3 million collectively, said the president of Chitwood & Chitwood of Tennessee.

Perhaps the most complex part of their divorce will be dividing up the assets, debts and business interests.

The couple's home on Bayshore Boulevard has an assessed value of $2.22 million. They have a land trust that includes two Tampa houses with assessed values of $144,800 and $257,835. The New York condo is valued at about $3.5 million.

Their multimillion-dollar ministry includes a private jet.

Randy White has said much of their wealth comes from more than 23 successful business ventures, including real estate and his role as a pitchman for Great HealthWorks' Omega XL fatty acid pills.

With that kind of income, how many Chick tracts would that buy????

Mother Teresa Letters Reveal She Lost Her Faith

Letters that were supposed to be destroyed now reveal that Mother Teresa had lost her faith in God before her death. She had written friends that she had stopped praying and doubted the existence of the God, the soul, or Jesus. One would think such letters would derail efforts to turn her into a saint, but one Vatican official says it actually "helps her cause" because it makes her seem more heroic. (Talk about spin control!) See Chick's MEN IN BLACK.

Dutch Bishop wants Christians to call God 'Allah'

"Allah is a very beautiful word for God. Shouldn't we all say that from now on we will call God 'Allah'?" asked Bishop Martinus Petrus Maria Muskens in an interview on Dutch TV this week. "God doesn't care what we call him."

Muskens, the Roman Catholic Bishop of the southern Dutch town of Breda, is known for previous controversial remarks suggesting the poor should steal bread and advocating the use of condoms to control the spread of AIDS.

As quoted by Radio Netherlands three decades ago, when serving as a missionary in Indonesia, "someone like me ... prayed to Allah yang maha kuasa [Almighty God] for eight years and other priests [did so] for 20 or 30 years. In the heart of the Eucharist, God is called Allah over there, so why can't we start doing that together?"

The bishop further noted that in Arabic-speaking regions, Christians speak of "Allah" as Westerners might speak of "Lord," and indeed were using the term in Aramaic before the rise of Islam.

"If Muslims and Christians address God with the same name, this contributes to harmonious living between both religions," read a statement on the Web site of the Breda Diocese.

The diocese is careful to note that "the idea of calling God 'Allah' in the Catholic liturgy in the Netherlands has not been discussed as a component of diocesan policy, or as a policy of the Dutch [Catholic] Church."

Of course, the bishop leaves out the fact that the Muslim Allah and the Judeo-Christian Yahweh (God) are completely different beings with different attributes. Jack Chick believes that the Vatican is attempting to build bridges to Islam, and that Muslims consider Catholicism the true version of Christianity. The possibility is that the Vatican and Islam will unite to destroy Bible believing Protestant evangelicals. See the Crusaders volume "The Prophet"

San Francisco seeks to destroy Michael Savage

San Francisco Supervisor Gerardo Sandoval is seeking to get talk show host Michael Savage off of the airwaves.

Sandoval is also trying to force taxpayers to pay for immigrants’ green cards and citizenship. His resolution condemns national radio talk-show host Michael Savage for what he and others brand as Savage's “defamatory language…against immigrants.”

This is the same Sandoval who said that “many media outlets are using this as an opportunity to slander the Muslim community and, unfortunately, even black African-Americans as a whole” when the Black Muslim bakery in Oakland was raided by police after some of its people were implicated in the recent murder of a reporter that was investigating them. It seem that in San Francisco, Black Muslims can do no wrong while evangelical Christians are to be eradicated.

This is also the same Sandoval who told Fox News that the United States should not have a military, an insult unprecedented to America’s courageous troops in harm’s way and fighting words to the millions of patriots who see Michael Savage as their leader.

In typical democratic fashion, Sandoval told the Examiner that he intends to hold a press conference on the steps of City Hall Tuesday just before the entire Board of Supervisors votes on his resolution against Savage. As Savage warned, liberalism is a mental disorder. Hundreds of San Francisco residents are protesting Savage, and want him silenced. Apparently, the First Amendment only applies to liberals, not conservatives like Savage who want to protect the country from invaders. San Francisco is the same sick and perverted city that rejoiced when Jerry Falwell died.

Jack Chick warned in "Why No Revival?" that failure to protect America's borders resulted in floods of immigrants, nearly all of them Roman Catholic, who will change American policies to favor Catholicism over everyone else.

Wife /Preacher Killer Could Go Free Today (served 60 days)

The wife who blew her husband's brains out with a shotgun, could be freed after serving just 60 days for the murder of her preacher spouse. (She also spent 5 months in jail waiting for trial.) Her lawyer conviced the Jury the murder was somehow excusable because the husband yelled at her and made her wear slutty clothes during sex sometimes, and that made her feel "uncomfortable". (Sounds like a capital offense to me!) She was convicted of "voluntary manslaughter" and sentenced to just three years for the premeditated killing, but a bleeding heart judge plans to let her out and serve the rest of her time on probation. The part they are not telling you about is that she killed her husband to avoid him finding out that she had wasted the family savings on a Nigerian get-rich-quick scheme. The bank had called her in the next day settle the debt and she killed her husband the night before he would find out. See Chick's HAPPY HOUR.

Texas Megachurch Refuses Gay Funeral

An Arlington megachurch canceled a memorial service for a Navy veteran 24 hours before it was to start because the deceased was gay. They changed their mind when they saw the pictures that the family wanted to put on display, which included homosexuals hugging and kissing. Although many mega churches do not speak out against homosexuality, this one supports the Biblical prohibition against it and condemns it as a sin. They still made the food for the 100 guests and offered to pay for the service elsewhere, but the sister is furious and attacking them in the media (and will probably try to to sue them). See Chick's DOOM TOWN.

Lutheran Church Compromises on Homosexual Sin

The Lutheran church took another step toward accepting the gay agenda as it urged Bishops not to remove practicing gays from the ministry. It currently does not allow blessing or endorsing homosexual sex and same sex marriage, but this compromise is seen by many as another nudge down the slippery slope in that direction. One gay activist said, "We now have tolerance, but not acceptance... yet." See Chick's THE GAY BLADE.

Mormon Wins GOP Straw Vote

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won an easy and expected victory in a high-profile Iowa Republican Party Straw Poll. The Mormon spent millions and campaigned hard to secure the victory, hoping to show he can win in a party that has large numbers of Evangelical Christians. But he has other baggage as well. His state is the only one to allow same sex marriage and he personally signed the bill that socialized health insurance there. The other major GOP contenders skipped the poll altogether. See Chick's THE VISITORS.

Assemblies of God elects new leader

The conservative, evangelical, and Pentecostal denomination, the General Council of the Assemblies of God, has just voted for a new General Superintendent, the 12th leader to serve since the denomination's founding in 1914.
The Rev. George O. Wood has been elected to fill the unexpired term of the Rev. Thomas E. Trask, who has chosen to retire.
The 52nd General Council biannual meeting was held in Indianapolis, Indiana representing an American constituency of nearly 3 million people meeting in 12,000 churches.
The Assemblies of God received unwanted notoriety in the worldwide news media when the PTL scandal involving Jim Bakker happened in 1987, and later the scandal involving Jimmy Swaggart in 1988. Both preachers were ordained in the Assemblies of God, as is Chick Fan Club President Richard Lee. Alberto Rivera said that the Assemblies of God has been infiltrated by Jesuits. Dems Hold "Gay Debate". Clinton says Gays Are Moral

The Democrats held a special "gay debate" last night, ran by a homosexual activist group. Most the Democratic candidates attended (except Biden and Dobbs). All urged that practicing homosexuals be allowed in the military and the repeal of the current law that allows them to serve if they don't broadcast their homosexuality publically. Being aware that most Americans are against gay marriage, only two Democrats publically embraced it (former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel and Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio). Hillary Clinton apologized for not taking a stronger pro-gay stand ealier when she wouldn't disagree with a general who said homosexual sex was immoral. "It was a mistake," she said. She later issued a statement saying that she did not think being gay was immoral. Obama said he supported gay civil unions and that his church (United Church of Christ) supports gay marriage, but he avoided saying that he personally supported both. John Edwards disputed an earlier quote that he was "uncomfortable around gays". Now he says he is perfectly comfortable around them. (Considering how much money they donate to the Democrats, he better be!) See Chick's SIN CITY.

Iraq Shiites Prepare for Bloody March

Shitte ceremonies honoring Imam Moussa ibn Jaafar al-Kadhim, one of 12 principal Shiite saints who died in the year 799, begin soon in Iraq.

More than a million Shiite faithful — flogging themselves with iron chains and slicing their foreheads with swords — are expected to proceed Thursday toward the shrine of Imam al-Kadhim in Baghdad’s Shiite Kazimiyah neighborhood. The self-flagellation slowly turns their white cloaks red with blood in a ritual of grief banned under Saddam Hussein. See Chick's ALLAH HAD NO SON.

Communist China Bans Living Buddahs

In a effort to stop the influence of the exiled Tibetian Dali Lama, Communist leaders in China "banned" the reincarnation of any future "living buddahs" in China and Tibet (which China invaded and now claims is part of China). The ban goes into effect September 1st, and makes any future reincarnations illegal. The last time a 14-year-old boy was announced as the reincarnation of the Dali Lama (a few years ago), he was arrested and is now reported by authorities as having mysteriously "vanished" (probably murdered in jail). See Chick's KINGS OF THE EAST.

Battle Cry now in PDF format

For the first time in its publishing history since 1983, Chick Publications'
"Battle Cry" newsletter is available in PDF format to those with internet access. Chick Publications has been on the cutting edge of technology since Al Gore invented the internet, with a continuous presence on the worldwide web. Chick published his message with the power of the printing press, and when bookstores dropped his products, then with direct mailing. Chick Publications is more accessible than ever with the advent of the high speed modem and a computer. Just think! Chick Fan Club President Richard Lee was stranded in Matanuska Valley in Alaska in the dark ages of 1983 when he would have to wait WEEKS on end for Chick's materials to arrive in the mail all the way from Southern California. Receiving Chick's comics and tracts in that little post office box was THE highlight of any given week. If the internet existed back then, he would not have had cabin fever! Thank you, Al Gore, for inventing the 'net!
See Chick.com for details.
